About Bob Ochoa
Bob Ochoa brings over 10 years of basic dog training experience and over 30 years of large and small pet care and basic dog training to the industry.
Starting out as a client with his first German Shepard (GSD), Harlie, Bob discovered he really enjoyed working with animals and has a real talent for connecting and communicating with dogs.
In 2006, he began his canine training career as an assistant trainer with experienced Head Dog Trainer, Ron Bruce at Tenaker. The training and experience he has received prompted Bob to start his own dog training, Ruff Riders Dog Training and Pet Services in 2008, providing clients Basic Dog Training and other pet services in addition to continuing to train dogs with Mr. Bruce.
Bob continues with Ruff Riders as well as he took over as Head Canine Trainer at Tenaker, when Ron retired and handed over the leash in 2017. Ron has said that Bob's calm demeanor and good humor has been a big asset to the training program.
He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Sociology and a degree in Coaching and Physical Education. He also holds an Associates in Liberal Arts from Aims Community College. He continues to invest in classroom and online education, as he is a believer in lifelong learning.
His experience and education transfers over into his skill set of working with pets and their owners. He continues to learn and stay on top of canine training as well as the best practices to train family pets and teach clients.
Bob grew up on a farm in Sterling, Colo. where he enjoyed all types of domestic pets and wildlife. He has experience with dogs, cats, exotic birds, horses and skunks. Yes, skunks; ask him about it sometime.
He is also certified in Pet CPR, Insured and Bonded..
