Training

The initial FREE consultation of a meet and greet determines
the 2 to 3-week private lesson program scheduled and customized for your dog.

Each dog is different, so each program is designed with your dog in mind.
We are not a “one size fits all” trainer.

Obedience Training Programs consists of:

Sit | Down | Stay | Wait | Come-Recall | Heel | Off | Leave It

Walking on leash | Public Socialization | Place | Crate Training

​We customize training for you and your dog’s needs.

Our dog Board & Train programs are not your typical program. We are different in that your dog is trained in a real home environment. Unlike traditional kennels, (cement floors and jailhouse chainlink fences) we believe that a familiar and comfortable environment helps dogs retain their training and behavior learned with us and will continue to do so at home with you. Your dog obviously will not have the run of the house (no dog should), as he will learn to relax in his crate, hang out in our office and socialize with our own “furry” assistants–as well as train multiple times every day..

We prioritize quality over quantity, only accepting a select few dogs at a time.

VACCINATIONS

THIS IS IMPORTANT: We require all our clients’ dogs and puppies to be spayed or neutered and up to date on all vaccinations prior to training or it will need to be rescheduled. Dogs and Puppies 14 weeks and older will require written documentation from their vet for the following:​

• Bordetella
• Rabies
• Distemper
• Heart Worm (flea & tick)

Free Initial Consultation

Before we agree to work together, we want to make sure everyone likes each other as well as to see what your dog may need more work on. If your dog just does not like the one that will be training, that is extra stress you and your dog do not need. A consultation usually takes an hour to an hour and half. *There is no charge for an initial consultation. ($150 value)

Board and Train pricing is determined upon consultation as no two dogs are the same. Training is customized to meet the needs of you and your dog.

Rates are determined upon the results of the consultation.

Private Home Visits

Package or hourly rates are determined upon consultation, location, goals and needs of the dog.

Ruff Riders does not offer Service or Therapy Dog training.

Training for dogs and puppies 12 weeks and older

​All dogs must be current on their vaccinations with written documentation from your vet: Bordetella, Rabies, Distemper and Heartworm

Boarding

We only board dogs we have trained or are referred from other trainers we trust and have a working relationship with.

*We ask that if your dog attends a public daycare/kennel or dog parks, please give them a 2-week break before training with Ruff Riders Dog Training. We require this to avoid contagious health issues common at large facilities. We are very cautious and protective of our clients and their pets.

*To keep other dogs in my care safe, Board & Train is not a suitable option if your dog has issues with aggression or reactivity toward other dogs. I can support you with any problem areas for your dog via private instruction.

All dogs in our Board and Train programs must be healthy and provide proof of current vaccinations
– including Rabies, Leptospirosis, Heartworm and Bordetella.
